A new law has been adopted for device passwords: Easy passwords will not be accepted

No more "12345" password: Devices with weak passwords will be banned in the UK.
Britain is set to ban tech devices that use "weak passwords" under new laws that say all smart devices must meet minimum security standards.

The UK's Department for Science, Innovation and Technology has announced new measures to protect consumers from hacking and cyber-attacks.

As part of these measures, manufacturers will be required to protect devices that are already legally connected to the internet from access by cybercriminals.

This means that users are prompted to change any shared passwords.

It is hoped that the new measures will provide confidence in the purchase and use of technology products in the face of increasing hacker attacks.

THE LAWS ARE THE FIRST IN THE WORLD

Under these new laws, British users will no longer be able to set easily cracked passwords on their tech devices.

Science and Technology Minister Jonathan Berry said: "As everyday life becomes increasingly dependent on online devices, the dangers posed by the internet are multiplying. From today, consumers will have confidence that their smart devices are protected from cybercriminals. This is the first legislation." spoke.

The minister also emphasized that they are determined to make Great Britain the safest place to use the Internet in the world.
