An update on the identity card: it will be presented in digital form through the "mygov" application

It will not be mandatory to present the physical carrier of the ID card when using services in public and private institutions. After that, citizens' submission of the required ID card information through the "mygov" application will be considered equivalent to the submission of a physical ID card.
Thus, the citizen will be able to access the "mygov" application and share digital ID card information with the other party in various ways. At the same time, the citizen will be able to get acquainted with the history of when, where and to which institution he submitted his ID card information in the "mygov" application.
Submission of ID cards through "mygov" will provide businesses with advantages such as simplifying and speeding up operations, reducing the need for physical ID cards, and minimizing the use of paper. The Agency for Innovation and Digital Development continues to encourage institutions to integrate this process into more service areas.
It should be noted that in addition to the identity card, the information on the marriage, birth and death certificates submitted through "mygov" will have the same legal force as the physical carrier of those documents.
It should be recalled that on July 16, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan "On amending the Family Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the laws of the Republic of Azerbaijan "On the identity card of a citizen of the Republic of Azerbaijan", "On information, informatization and protection of information" and "On personal data" of the Republic of Azerbaijan 2024- He signed the Decree on the application of the Law No. 1193-VIQD dated June 28, 1998 and the amendment of the Decree No. 729 of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated June 19, 1998 on the implementation of the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan "On Information, Informatization and Information Protection".
