A new security measure developed by Google for the Android operating system aims to protect users from phishing attacks. This feature, tested in Android 14 QPR2 Beta 2, is called "Anti-Phishing".
Called "Deceptive App Search" in the previous beta version, the feature can be enabled from the Security & Privacy section in Settings. When users enable this feature, their app activity is checked for phishing or deception techniques. A review is performed on the device and if risky activity is detected, the user is alerted and the information is sent to Google Play Protect for verification.
Although Google has yet to make an official announcement, this security measure is seen to boost Android's anti-malware efforts.
