Anthropic's value reaches $1 billion

Investor sentiment is changing dramatically among AI companies. According to recent secondary market valuations, Anthropic is now worth nearly $1 trillion.

Investors speaking to Business Insider said that demand for Anthropic shares has reached “hype.” According to the head of the Forge Global platform, the company’s market value is approaching $1 trillion. Some shareholders have even tried to sell their shares at a valuation of $1.15 trillion.

Jesse Leimgruber, founder of the OpenHome startup, also wrote on the X platform on April 22, 2026, that “one of the very famous funds” offered to buy his stake in Anthropic at a valuation of $1.05 trillion.

Note that the company was valued at only $380 billion in its last official financing round – in February 2026. The subsequent rapid growth is largely due to tensions with the Pentagon and the great interest in the new Claude Mythos model presented by Anthropic. The company claims that this model has detected thousands of “zero-day” vulnerabilities.

On the other hand, interest in OpenAI shares is reportedly weakening. According to Forge Global, the company’s valuation is currently at about $880 billion. Some buyers are trying to buy shares at a lower valuation — less than $852 billion.

Bloomberg has previously noted that investor attention is gradually shifting away from OpenAI and towards Anthropic. According to information released in mid-April, Anthropic even received a new investment offer with a valuation of $800 billion.

Thus, competition in the artificial intelligence market is becoming more intense and investors’ priorities are changing rapidly.
