Today, at the first meeting of the Azerbaijan-US Economic Dialogue held in Baku, it was announced that Baku will host the US's 2nd World Artificial Intelligence Week this year.
"Report" reports that the meeting was organized within the framework of Baku Energy Week, jointly organized by the Ministry of Economy and the US Department of State, in accordance with the Charter on Strategic Partnership between Azerbaijan and the US.
With the participation of Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov and US Assistant Secretary of State for Economic, Energy and Business Affairs Caleb Orr, a number of documents and the Protocol of the Dialogue were signed in the areas of creating digital infrastructure in Azerbaijan, technology transfer and implementing efficient industrial solutions.
Panel sessions dedicated to regional connections, trade and transit, energy security, investments, artificial intelligence and digital infrastructure were held within the framework of the first Economic Dialogue. The first session discussed the Trump Initiative for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP), the Middle Corridor, expanding regional logistics capabilities, Azerbaijan’s investor-friendly business environment, as well as new opportunities for US companies created by the country’s growing ties with Europe and Central Asia.
The session on energy security reviewed cooperation opportunities in the development of the Southern Gas Corridor, electricity connections, and increasing energy production. Diversification of supply chains, diversification of critical mineral supply chains, and other areas of partnership were discussed.
The panel on economic investments discussed the promotion of economic projects that serve the mutual welfare of both peoples, including bilateral investments in transport and logistics, energy, and digital technologies. The focus was also on opportunities to promote US investments in various areas, including the Alat Free Economic Zone, which offers incentive mechanisms, benefits, and a favorable legal regime for investors.
The discussions on artificial intelligence and digital infrastructure provided information on US high-tech solutions. Data centers, cooperation in the application of artificial intelligence technologies, development of regulatory frameworks and future partnership in this area were reviewed. During the meeting, the parties emphasized the importance of expanding economic cooperation, promoting mutual investments and supporting innovative projects.
A meeting with business circles was also held within the framework of the event, and the importance of developing cooperation between the private sector and establishing new partnerships was noted.
