Bolt's Challenge to Passengers: Report Non-compliant Vehicles

With the introduction of new transport regulations in Azerbaijan, Bolt is taking decisive steps to ensure the safety of everyone and the adaptation of drivers and passengers to the process.

Bolt's activities in Azerbaijan, as everywhere, are in accordance with local legislation. In the spring of this year, new rules governing the passenger transport market came into force. According to the new rules adopted by AYNA, it is prohibited to use cars with a service life of more than 15 years for the transportation of passengers. In this regard, old cars are removed from the system. Unfortunately, after the adoption of the new regulation, the cases where the data of the car arriving on order do not match with those specified in the application occur more often.

Bolt is taking steps to prevent such incidents and help both drivers and passengers adapt to the changes. In order to improve the quality and safety of services, the company invites passengers to contact the support service, which allows them to register any incidents through the application. Therefore, the service asks users to report cases of vehicle discrepancies and emphasizes that passengers should not board a vehicle if the driver, make, model, color or license plate does not match the information provided in the application. In this case, Bolt does not charge additional fees for cancellation of trips or filing of complaints. Even passengers who face a similar situation and inform the support service that another car has arrived at the address are offered promo codes with a discount of up to 50% through the application.

Bolt invites drivers to get certifications and undergo training. The company is always ready to help partners in obtaining a license. For consultation, drivers can contact our offices: Baku — Khojaly pr., 55; Baku — S. Mehmandarov St., 18; Baku — H. Javid Ave., 78; Baku — Khagani Rustamov St., 46C; Baku International Bus Station Complex; Ganja — Hasan Aliyev str., 104; Sumgait — Sulh Plaza business center; Sheki — Shahriyar str., 3. In addition, Bolt specialists communicate with drivers through calls and SMS, help them to apply and get a license.

Partner drivers are regularly reminded of the need to comply with the new rules, and for additional motivation to obtain a license, Bolt offers special bonuses:

• 200 manat compensation for obtaining a license and time spent in training;

• 150 manats for obtaining a license;

• 230 manats for car parks for each licensed driver.

Drivers who do not comply with the new requirements will not be able to accept orders from Bolt.

Bolt strives to provide a safe, reliable and quality service to all its users. The platform now offers an expanded list of security features. This includes passenger insurance; driver ratings and the innovative "Unmatching driver-rider" function that allows you to separate the customer and the driver (if one of the parties is dissatisfied with the ride with the other, they never meet again on the platform), SOS button, GPS-monitoring of rides and others. Also, in case of any misunderstanding or unpleasant situation, the company recommends that you contact the Bolt support service, which operates 24 hours a day and promptly solves all questions and problems that arise during the trip.

— Naim Azizov, the head of Bolt company's travel booking direction in Azerbaijan, says: "We regularly remind our driver partners of the need to adapt their activities to the requirements of the new regulation, and so it goes. As an order operator, we help our partners get licenses and give recommendations. We take strict measures to ensure that every ride meets our high safety standards. We advise our passengers to contact the support service through the application in case of any incident. We are grateful to our passengers and driver partners for their cooperation and understanding during this transition."

Also this year, Bolt launched a new initiative by introducing new electric vehicles for select fleets. It is possible to order more than 20 Leapmotor C11 premium electric cars in the application, and there are about 300 cars with zero carbon emissions in Bolt's base in Azerbaijan.
