Cyberattack hits Louis Vuitton’s customer database in Turkey

Louis Vuitton’s customer database in Turkey has suffered a cyberattack, exposing the personal data of approximately 143,000 individuals. According to a statement by the Turkish Personal Data Protection Authority (KVKK), the stolen information includes names, surnames, phone numbers, email addresses, and residential addresses.

The breach was traced back to the compromise of an administrator account belonging to a third-party service provider working with Louis Vuitton. In response, the company has stated that it has upgraded its security systems and notified affected individuals.

The KVKK and cybersecurity experts advise citizens to take the following precautions in light of the incident:

Avoid answering calls and messages from unknown numbers.

Do not open suspicious emails or links.

Change account passwords and monitor the use of personal data.

Currently, the compromised data is believed to be limited to identity and contact information. There is no official confirmation yet on whether banking or financial data has also been leaked.
