Local media companies filed a lawsuit against the messenger. Judge Santiago Pedraz of the National Court of Spain decided to temporarily block Telegram in the country.
The decision was made within the framework of consideration of the claim of media companies EGEDA, Mediaset España, A3 Media and Movistar Plus. They accused Telegram of distributing pirated content.
Messenger did not submit the requested information to the court, and therefore it was decided to temporarily block it for further investigation.
