Over the past 6 months, 2,000 resources distributing malicious content have been neutralized in Azerbaijan.
Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport Sameddin Asadov spoke about this during his speech at the IV National Cybersecurity Forum held in Baku.
He noted that during the reporting period, 200 large DDoS attacks were neutralized, at the same time, more than 1.5 million information leaks were detected, and the activity of 160 thousand botnet networks was prevented: "In the past, a Unified Cybersecurity Platform was created to exchange information on cybersecurity at the national level and protect the information space from modern threats and cyberattacks. Currently, more than 50 organizations have joined this platform, and the network is being further expanded."
According to the Deputy Minister, cybersecurity is not only ensured by technical solutions: "The human factor plays a decisive role in this area. That is why awareness-raising activities are of particular importance. Over the past period, more than 705 awareness-raising events have been held in the country, and approximately 48 thousand citizens have been informed about cybersecurity. Over the past 3 years, about 360 specialists have been trained at the Azerbaijan Cyber Security Center, and we have information that 86% of them have already been hired. 120 cybersecurity specialists in state and private institutions have been involved in advanced training programs, and cyber awareness trainings have been carried out in 53 organizations."
