Dropbox has announced that it has acquired Reclaim.ai, an artificial intelligence-based calendaring tool. This information was published on Reclaim.ai's website, but the terms of the contract were not detailed.

Founded in 2019 by Henry Shapiro and Patrick Lightbody, Reclaim.ai said it will continue to develop its product under new ownership and is committed to supporting all users. The tool is currently used by over 43,000 companies and over 320,000 people worldwide.

The startup has so far raised $9.5 million in funding from investors including Calendly, Character.vc, Flying Fish, Gradient Ventures, Index Ventures, Operator Partners, Yummy Ventures, Grafana CEO Raj Dutt, and former GitHub CTO Jason Warner.

Reclaim.ai aims to help users manage time better and help them set aside time for meetings, tasks, building personal habits and breaks. The product integrates with Google Calendar, allowing users to choose the optimal time in the calendar and create various calendar features. It competes with other calendar tools like Calendly, Clockwise and Doodle.

Reclaim.ai currently only provides Google Calendar support, but plans to add Outlook support. The company noted that it will not change service tariffs.

All 22 Reclaim.ai employees have joined Dropbox. Dropbox's mission is to "design a smarter work environment," and Reclaim has been part of that goal since 2019, the company said.

Earlier this month, Dropbox announced revenue of $634.5 million for the second quarter of 2024, representing a 1.9% year-over-year increase. The number of paying users has increased to 18.22 million.
