ECO Creative Week Baku 2025: The rise of CulTech and a new regional creative ecosystem

A special program covering the regional development of CulTech (Cultural Technology) will be presented within the framework of the “OIC Culture Festival: Baku Creative Week 2025” to be held on December 5–11, 2025 in partnership with the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

“CulTech” is an innovative ecosystem model formed at the intersection of culture and technology. The goal of the program is to bring together the creative youth of the region and create conditions for the creation of a new generation of creative products through digital solutions, art and innovation.

The C-HUB concept prepared for the regional application of CulTech will be presented at a panel to be held jointly with ICESCO on December 8. C-HUB is a development sequence that combines training, hackathon, incubation and scale-up stages and serves to build a single CulTech ecosystem in the OIC region. The concept was developed jointly by the Creative Center and SUP VC.

The model is already being successfully implemented for the residents of the Creative Center in Azerbaijan. In the next stage, it is planned to be implemented in countries such as Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Turkey, Malaysia, the UAE and Saudi Arabia. It is planned to further expand this geography in the near future.

A panel titled “Islamic Culture in the Digital Age” will also take place as part of the festival. Experts from Azerbaijan, Turkey, Morocco, the UAE and Senegal will discuss the impact of digitalization on the preservation of Islamic cultural heritage, the presentation of culture in new media formats and international activity models.

The “Invest2Create” panel, to be held on December 9, will be dedicated to investment opportunities in creative industries. Investors and experts from the countries of the region will exchange views on the investment potential of creative projects, increasing capital flows and the opportunities for startups to access global markets.

One of the most inspiring parts of the week will be the speeches of CulTech graduates in the TED format. Young people will share their development stories, the challenges they faced and the results they achieved with the audience, motivating new generations.

The festival will also showcase CulTech startups and creative initiatives by the OAC “Organization of Artistic Collaboration.” This platform creates new opportunities for cultural and technological collaboration between regions.

“CulTech” is a contemporary movement that combines culture, technology and innovation, paving the way for the formation of a new regional creative wave.
