Elon Musk: "Neuralink operations are successful"

Neuralink founder Elon Musk said at an event in Las Vegas that three patients have currently had brain implants implanted, and all of them are working successfully. Bloomberg reported this.

Musk added that the company plans to implant brain implants in another 20-30 people in 2025. Although no further details were provided, it was emphasized that work in this direction is ongoing.

Neuralink received permission to test neurochips on humans in 2023. The first operation was performed in early 2024. As a result of that operation, the patient was able to control a computer mouse with his mind, play the game Civilization VI, and even broadcast.

Elon Musk shared information about the second operation in August 2024. Just a day after this operation, the participant was able to play Counter-Strike 2 using only his mind.

In September 2024, Neuralink began seeking volunteers to test its Blindsight implant, which aims to restore vision in the blind. In November, the company received approval to begin its first clinical trials outside the United States.
