Apple is expected to announce an updated version of its Siri voice assistant in February.
The new update will reportedly be based on Google's Gemini artificial intelligence models and is seen as the first step towards realizing Apple's AI promises made in June 2024. The updated Siri will be able to access user data and content displayed on the screen.
In addition, a more natural and dialogue-based version of Siri is also planned. It is reported that this version can run on Google's cloud infrastructure and provide a wider range of functions. The said major update is expected to be presented at the Apple Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) event to be held in June.
Reports indicate that Apple has recently faced certain difficulties in its artificial intelligence strategy. In particular, the departure of AI head John Giannandrea from the company and internal disagreements are among the main factors slowing down progress in this area.
