Google has launched its AI agent "Jules" for public use

Since December 2024, Google has been testing its AI agent "Jules" with a limited number of users, and now it is available for free in all countries where the Gemini platform operates (except Russia). Jules is based on the Gemini 2.5 Pro model and is capable of automatically managing code, fixing errors, writing new functions, and running tests.

The agent integrates with GitHub and makes code changes only with the user’s consent. Jules clones the project’s code onto a virtual machine in Google Cloud and can handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Users can assign up to five tasks per day and run a maximum of two tasks at the same time. For extended usage, users can request higher limits from Google.

Upon completion, Jules provides the user with a detailed report of the work done. Additionally, Google has launched Codecasts, an audio-format changelog service that summarizes the updates made.

This new AI agent is an effective tool designed to speed up and improve the quality of programming for developers. Google is actively collecting user feedback to further enhance the service.

While the service is currently free, it is expected to transition to a paid subscription model for software developers in the future.
