Google has renamed the Nearby Share feature on Android devices

Google is changing the name of the "Nearby Share" feature used for file transfer between Android devices to "Quick Share". This change was announced to users in the latest beta version of Google Play services.

Along with the new name, Quick Share will also have a new icon. The change will not affect the functionality of the Nearby Share feature and will roll out to all devices in a few weeks. The name change is similar to the name of the file sharing tool found on Samsung's Galaxy phones, leading to speculation that there could be a collaboration between Google and Samsung.
