Google to merge ChromeOS and Android into a single platform

Samir Samat, President of the Android Ecosystem, announced that Google plans to combine the ChromeOS and Android operating systems into one unified platform. This information was reported by Techradar.

During a conversation with a journalist using a MacBook Pro, Samat expressed interest in understanding how people currently use their laptops, explaining that Google is preparing to merge ChromeOS and Android.

Rumors about merging Android and ChromeOS first surfaced last year, with earlier reports indicating that Google would not fully port ChromeOS onto Android nor create an entirely new system from scratch.

Currently, Google aims to unify its mobile and desktop operating systems. Apple’s iPadOS serves as a similar hybrid system, combining features of iOS and macOS.

No further technical or official details about the merger have been released yet. The move is intended to provide users with a more integrated and seamless experience across devices.
