Grok’s X account has been blocked in Turkey

Grok’s X (formerly Twitter) account has been blocked in Turkey due to “national security” reasons.

According to the Freedom of Expression Association, a decision was made to block access to Grok’s X account under Article 8/A of Law No. 5651 for the protection of national security and public order. Although this decision has been communicated to internet providers and the X social media platform, the account has not yet been fully blocked.

Once the decision is implemented, Grok’s X account will not be accessible from Turkey. Even if users ask questions to Grok, the bot’s responses will not be visible within Turkish territory.

It should be noted that, for now, there is no access ban for Grok’s mobile application or official website, and both remain fully available for use.

The Freedom of Expression Association had previously announced that 50 pieces of content posted on Grok’s X account were blocked from access in Turkey following a decision by the 7th Criminal Court of Ankara on July 9, 2025. According to that decision, although some posts were removed by X, the remaining content was made inaccessible from Turkey.
