Representatives of Azerbaijan's innovation ecosystem participated in the "Pakistan Venture Connect 2024" event, held in Islamabad, Pakistan, on October 9-10, 2024. Vusal Karimli, Director of Nextstep Innovation Center, represented Azerbaijan and gave a detailed presentation on the country’s achievements and ongoing efforts in the field of innovation. Meanwhile, Mammad Karim, head of the Caucasus Ventures fund, spoke about investment opportunities in Azerbaijan and expressed his interest in expanding regional cooperation.
On the second day of the event, the Azerbaijani delegation visited Pakistan's technology hubs, gaining deeper insights into the country's advancements in the innovation sector. Their participation significantly contributed to the development of innovation ties and the deepening of cooperation prospects between Azerbaijan and Pakistan.
Speaking to Tech.az Media about the visit, Mammad Karim said: "At the Pakistan Venture Connect 2024 event, we had the opportunity to listen to presentations from colleagues across the region and engage in valuable discussions on various topics. We exchanged ideas not only about the growing potential of the region's innovation ecosystem but also about possible collaboration opportunities. The candid speeches of our regional counterparts in relation to the core directions of Caucasus Ventures highlighted new perspectives and opportunities for cooperation. Additionally, we were able to closely observe Pakistan's innovation ecosystem and watch startup presentations. I was particularly impressed by the statistics shared during our visit to several tech hubs in Islamabad. The investment figures were especially striking, prompting me to seriously consider investing in Pakistani startups. I am currently evaluating a few startups and will be delving deeper into this matter.
I extend my sincere gratitude to the Asian Development Bank, especially Navid Durrani, for their support in organizing our visit."
