Under the leadership of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Mr. Ilham Aliyev, within the framework of the reforms in the field of army building, intelligent units were created in the Azerbaijan Army.
In order to more effectively benefit from the knowledge and skills of talented young people who stand out in education, and at the same time to contribute to their career development, a new concept of military service is being implemented in the Ministry of Defense.
According to the new concept of training and experience, talented conscripts with high intelligence in military service will continue their military service under special conditions in units created within the National Defense University in order to be involved in various projects and activities according to their qualifications after completing the training program for young soldiers.
The list of international and republican subject olympiads, international contests and competitions, approved by the Resolution No. 229 of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated May 20, 2019, and their winners who comply with the terms of the "Rule for out-of-competition admission of winners to higher education institutions", as well as the international ranking according to the results of the calendar year prior to the current calendar year ("Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings" or "Academic Ranking of World Universities" (Shanghai)) Conscripts who are graduates of undergraduate or graduate programs of a foreign higher education institution ranked no lower than 500 will serve.
Among the young people who have been called up for full-term active military service in the specified category, those who have relevant qualifications in the field of information technology will make a significant contribution to the development of digital skills and the creation of new opportunities in the Army.
Taking into account the importance for our country of forming human capital with important skills that can apply modern technologies and approaches, it will be ensured that especially talented young people will gain useful work experience in their professional fields during actual military service.
