LinkedIn's chief legal and global communications officer, Blake Lovit, said that hiring has declined by about 20% since 2022.
He noted that, according to the company's extensive database of analyses, there is currently no direct impact of artificial intelligence on the labor market. In particular, the expected changes in customer support, marketing and administrative areas have not yet manifested themselves.
According to the company representative, the main reason for the decline in hiring is the increase in interest rates. It was also emphasized that this decline occurs at a similar level among both young and more experienced workers.
However, it is not excluded that the situation may change in the future. It was noted that in recent years, the skills required for jobs have already changed by 25%, and this indicator is expected to reach 70% by 2030.
According to experts, artificial intelligence will affect the content of jobs and the required skills more than the number of jobs in the coming years.
