Mastercard announces the start of cooperation with “Baku Taxi Service” LLC, ABB and APAR bicycle rental service to improve sustainable urban transport in Azerbaijan.
Joint Project with ABB and APAR Service
APAR is providing 700 eco-friendly pedal bicycles and 200 e-bikes in key areas of the city, perfectly complementing the taxi initiative of Mastercard and ABB as partners. Users of Mastercard cards obtained from ABB will receive a 50% discount on subscriptions for pedal bicycles. At the same time, all Mastercard users will be able to benefit from special incentives for electric bicycles. A convenient mobile application will be provided for users to search for bicycles, start a ride and manage their rental.
Exclusive Mastercard Benefits for Baku Taxi Service Users
In order to encourage the use of eco-friendly electric taxis, “Baku Taxi” LLC has launched an exclusive campaign for Mastercard card users: a 10% discount on mobile payments for one year. This initiative encourages residents and visitors to clean transportation, reduces emissions and supports sustainability. Natig Dadashov, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Azerbaijan Land Transport Agency, noted that about 35 km of micromobility lanes have been laid by AYNA in order to develop micromobility infrastructure in the capital and encourage the population to use this type of transport, especially during short-distance trips. He also noted that positive results have been observed from the innovations implemented in the taxi sector to improve the level of service.
