Meta has launched major changes in its artificial intelligence strategy. The company has dismantled its previous structure and reorganized it into four new divisions, according to an internal memo shared with employees.
The new organization will be called Meta Superintelligence Labs (MSL). Its core unit, named TBD Labs, will be led by Alexandr Wang, who joined Meta in June as Chief Artificial Intelligence Officer. TBD Labs will primarily focus on developing large foundation models such as the Llama series, the latest version of which was released in April. The other three divisions will concentrate on research, product integration, and infrastructure.
In recent months, Meta has been investing heavily in artificial intelligence to keep pace with competitors like OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google DeepMind. Reports suggest that Mark Zuckerberg has been personally involved in recruiting talent for the new teams.
Through this restructuring, Meta aims to strengthen its position in artificial intelligence, accelerate the development of new technologies, and become more competitive in the global market.
