Microsoft has launched a new Copilot Mode in its Edge browser, based on artificial intelligence (AI). The new feature allows users to summarize videos, analyze web pages, and perform certain tasks in the background.
According to the company, Copilot Mode has been in testing since July 2025, and is now available to all users in countries where the AI assistant Copilot is supported.
The browser's home page now has a query bar for Copilot, which runs on the GPT-5 model. Users can call the assistant on any page with the Alt + C combination and ask questions in text or voice.
Copilot can "see" and analyze not only the open page, but also all active tabs. It also provides personalized answers taking into account the user's search history.
Microsoft has also added an agent function called Copilot Actions to the browser. This function can automatically unsubscribe from spam subscriptions or book a restaurant table by checking email. This feature is currently only available to US users.
In addition, Journeys has been launched in the US. This feature automatically groups viewed pages by topic, allowing users to continue where they left off without having to search their browser history.
