Moving to expand its existing digital infrastructure footprint in Canada, Microsoft has announced it will invest $500 million to boost hyperscale cloud computing and artificial intelligence efforts in Quebec.
Microsoft plans to complete the investment plan within two years. This investment will strengthen the artificial intelligence and cyber security innovation economy in Quebec and stimulate the creation of high-value jobs.
Microsoft, which aims to increase computing capacity in Quebec by about 240 percent over the next three years after the investment is complete, also plans to accelerate the pace of AI innovation. Microsoft noted that the economic opportunities created by digital transformation and advances in artificial intelligence cannot be realized without a skilled workforce. That's why it offers support programs to provide new opportunities for citizens and businesses across the state.
