The Ministry of Digital Development and Transport will also be the central executive body implementing state policy and regulation in the fields of digital development and artificial intelligence.
This is reflected in the amendment made to the “Regulation on the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport of the Republic of Azerbaijan” by the Decree signed by President Ilham Aliyev.
It should be noted that the Azerbaijan Artificial Intelligence Laboratory, which was established under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, operates. The laboratory was created with the aim of developing artificial intelligence and agile management of national artificial intelligence activities and capabilities. An innovative infrastructure has been created within the Azerbaijan Artificial Intelligence Laboratory to develop the capabilities necessary for a future driven by artificial intelligence and to train skilled personnel.
At the same time, one of the three main directions in which the Azerbaijan Center of the World Economic Forum’s Fourth Industrial Revolution Network operates is “Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning” (the other two directions: “Internet of Things and Urban Transformation” and “Digital Trade”).
It seems that the Ministry will now carry out all work as a fully authorized institution.
