North Korean hackers seized the cryptocurrencies they stole with an Asian fintech

North Korean hackers Lazarus Group, known for their activities in the field of online financial scams and cryptocurrency theft, sent the stolen cryptocurrency to Asian payment company Huione Pay. According to Reuters, digital assets worth millions of dollars were stolen as a result of these attacks.

The main targets of these thefts are usually various cryptocurrency exchanges and financial institutions. In the latest attack, the Lazarus Group transferred the stolen cryptocurrency to an Asian payment company in order to hide its track and ensure it was laundered. This method is a tactic used to lose track of stolen digital assets and turn them into cash.

The Lazarus Group is known as a hacker group allegedly linked to the North Korean government. The group is particularly known for large-scale cyber attacks and financial fraud. The United States and its allies have imposed various sanctions and security measures to limit the Lazarus Group's activities.

Such attacks highlight the cyber security vulnerabilities of the global financial system and call on the international community to take stronger measures to protect and enhance the security of digital assets.
