Canadian payments technology company Nuvei has announced that it will acquire Israeli fintech Payoneer, a cross-border payments company, in an all-cash deal valued at $2.75 billion.
Under the deal, Nuvei will acquire Payoneer for $7.40 per share, a premium of about 21% to the company’s June 12 Nasdaq closing price. The acquisition is aimed at strengthening Nuvei’s position in the international payments market.
Payoneer primarily serves small and medium-sized businesses, freelancers and online sellers in emerging markets. The company processed $22.8 billion in transactions in the first quarter of 2026, with the largest source of revenue coming from the Greater China region.
Nuvei said that the combination would generate annual revenue of about $3 billion and annual payment volume of more than $500 billion. The deal has already been approved by the boards of both companies and is expected to be completed in mid-2027, subject to shareholder and regulatory approvals.
