Julia Villagra, OpenAI’s Chief People Officer (CPO), has decided to leave the company to focus on her personal projects. In her new work, Villagra plans to use art, music, and storytelling to explain the transition to Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) to people.
Villagra joined OpenAI in February as Head of Human Resources and was promoted to CPO in March by CEO Sam Altman.
According to OpenAI, Fidji Simo, who recently joined the company as CEO of Applications, will take over Villagra’s role in the near future. During the transition period, Strategy Director Jason Kwon will manage all of Villagra’s responsibilities.
