Turkey’s digital asset platform Paribu has announced that it has acquired the controlling stake of CoinMENA, a cryptocurrency exchange operating in Bahrain and Dubai. As a result of the agreement between the parties, the company’s total valuation has risen to as high as $240 million. This strategic move is not only the largest fintech deal in Turkey’s history but also the country’s first cross-border acquisition in the digital assets sector.
Paribu’s founder and CEO, Yasin Oral, described the deal as a “turning point’’ in the company’s expansion strategy across the Middle East and North Africa region. He stated that through this acquisition, the company has expanded its licensed operational footprint and has become a regulated key player in one of the world’s most crypto-adopted markets.
