Perplexity has launched its "Comet" browser for Android users. The main advantage of the browser is that its AI can "see" and analyze the content of the websites you have open. For example, if multiple pages are open on your screen, you can simply ask the assistant to summarize the information on those pages or answer a specific question. The assistant reads all open windows and provides you with a concise summary. Additionally, the app includes a built-in ad blocker.
The company states that the browser can conduct online research on your behalf and even make purchases for you. You can watch the assistant’s actions live on the screen. In the coming weeks, new features are planned, including a conversational agent capable of cross-site searches and a password manager.
Perplexity also announced that the iOS version will be available soon, but for now, Android has been prioritized. The company attributes this to the strong interest from mobile operators and device manufacturers in integrating "Comet" into their systems.
