Proton has launched a new video calling platform - Proton Meet. The new service is presented as an alternative to Google Meet and users can use it without registering.
When using it without registering, it is possible to organize a call with a maximum of 4 people. When opening an account, the free version has a call limit of up to 50 participants and up to 1 hour. A subscription package worth $ 8 per month offers up to 100 participants and unlimited calls. Higher tariffs also include other Proton services.
It is possible to create a meeting on the platform, start an instant call, schedule it or set up a permanent “room”. Adding meetings to Proton and other calendars is also supported.
According to the company, Proton Meet is protected by end-to-end encryption and no one, not even Proton itself, can access the calls.
