Health and fitness tracker maker Whoop has raised $575 million in its latest funding round. The new round values the company at $10.1 billion, nearly three times its previous valuation of $3.6 billion.
The round was led by a number of major funds and institutions, as well as prominent athletes. Among them are Cristiano Ronaldo, LeBron James and Rory McIlroy.
The company has raised a total of nearly $900 million since its inception. The new partnerships, including a deal with medical technology giant Abbott, signal Whoop’s expansion into healthcare.
The company said the funds will be used to fund hiring, marketing, research and development, and international expansion.
