The Space Agency ("Azerkosmos") under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport has established a platform that generates valuable information for the public to monitor the effects of climate change in a specific area and time zone.

This was stated by Chairman of the Management Board of "Azerkosmos" Samaddin Asadov, who spoke at the third meeting of the heads of space agencies of the Organization of Turkic States (STC 2024) held in the capital of Turkey.

The chairman said that this year, the Climate Report platform (climatereport.az) was opened to the public in order to provide information on the effects of drought, snow cover, glaciers, reservoirs, sea level rise and fall, methane concentration, soil salinity and many other factors.

Inviting the participants of the international conference to the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP 29) to be held in Baku in November, the chairman said that "Azerkosmos", which operates on a global scale, feels its responsibility in the direction of solving global problems: "This year "Azerkosmos has taken a step forward in conducting comprehensive research on climate change, working with international partners and the government of Azerbaijan to present a remarkable work that will solve the problem of climate change in our region."

In the end, S. Asadov noted that the hosting of STC 2025 will be handed over to Azerbaijan.
