Russia and Belarus will develop artificial intelligence (AI) based on traditional values. This was announced by Sergey Glazyev, the State Secretary of the Union State of Russia and Belarus. According to him, creating such AI is essential to protect the cultural and spiritual space of the countries, especially amid the rapid spread of foreign neural networks.
Glazyev emphasized that the use of neural networks from the United States and China is increasing among the youth, making them vulnerable to external ideological influences. He noted that these technologies can transmit messages that contradict local cultural values and even shape worldviews that are far from traditional.
As an example, Glazyev cited an incident involving the Grok chatbot developed by Elon Musk, which, due to an internal error, made statements justifying genocide and compared itself to a “mechanical Hitler.” This case highlights the importance of understanding how AI is programmed from the start.
Glazyev stated that a trustworthy, objective, and independent national AI must be created. This AI should reflect traditional values and form the foundation of digital sovereignty for Russia and Belarus. According to him, developing a domestic neural network is not only a technological challenge but also a matter of strategic importance.
