Spotify has announced its financial results for the second quarter of 2026. For the first time in the company's history, the number of Premium subscribers exceeded 300 million, and the number of monthly active users increased by 12% year-on-year to 777 million.
The music platform's revenue in the second quarter increased by 14% compared to the same period last year to 4.8 billion euros. Despite Spotify raising subscription prices in several markets during the year, it was able to expand its Premium user base by 9% quarter-on-quarter.
In recent months, the company has added fitness content, audio magazines, concert ticket sales and print book sales in the US and UK to its services to diversify its revenue sources.
Spotify is also expanding its artificial intelligence capabilities. The platform has introduced new features such as the creation of personalized podcasts, AI-based Q&A and summary functions, a partnership with ElevenLabs for audiobook creation, and a chat-based artificial intelligence assistant.
