SpaceX's popular Internet project Starlink has launched satellites carrying new "space laser" technology. This laser-based communication technology allows satellites in a constellation to communicate with each other more quickly and efficiently, speeding up direct intersatellite data transfer by reducing reliance on ground stations for traditional communications.
According to Starlink, each of these laser connection types will transfer data at 100 Gbit/s (125 MB/s).
Its purpose is to provide users with a faster and more uninterrupted internet experience. With this innovation, Starlink plans to expand into sectors such as maritime and aviation. The company aims to be one step ahead of its competitors in global broadband services.
