The company has only one year left to fully regulate its supply process.

Apple is struggling to bring foldable iPhone production to the planned level by 2026. According to expert Ming-Chi Kuo, the company has faced issues during the trial phase at the new Foxconn factory in Taiwan and is significantly behind the mass production schedule.

Nevertheless, J.P. Morgan analysts believe that demand for the smartphone will be very high, even if its price reaches $2,000. According to forecasts, Apple could sell over 20 million “Fold” units in the first year, as roughly half of the U.S. users planning to buy a foldable phone prefer the Apple brand.

Kuo suggests that Apple will only be able to ensure a stable and uninterrupted supply of the product by early 2027. This means that obtaining the new model will be quite difficult when it first goes on sale, marking one of the largest iPhone shortages in history.

It is expected that Apple will unveil the new foldable iPhone model in September 2026, alongside the dark red iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max models. The device is planned to feature Touch ID technology and a special foldable mechanism made from liquid metal.
