The new smartphone presented by the Russians turned out to be fake

A device identical to the Russian "R-FON" smartphone has been identified in Bangladesh. The Russian-made R-FON smartphone suspiciously resembles the Symphony Helio 80 smartphone sold in Bangladesh. Both devices come with a 6.7-inch screen, MediaTek Helio G99 processor, 128 GB of internal storage, and a 5000 mAh battery. However, the Symphony Helio 80 offers 6 GB of RAM and a 108-megapixel camera, while the R-FON has 8 GB of RAM and a 50-megapixel camera.

After some news agencies reported on this similarity, the manufacturer of the R-FON smartphone, the Rutek company, commented on the situation. Its representatives stated that they had no information about the device coming from Bangladesh. The company emphasized that the R-FON and Symphony Helio 80 are "completely different devices."

Manufacturers of R-FON and Helio 80 smartphones may license the same smartphone model produced in China. Previously, authors of the publication discovered that the Russian company's device announcement listed China's Bopel Mobile Technology company as the manufacturer. Rutek denies such possibilities.
