The Bakıkart application has not been working for a long time. Since August 9, 2024, the Bakıkart mobile application and website have stopped operating. Although the Azerbaijan Land Transport Agency (AYNA) stated in its press releases regarding the issue that work was being done to eliminate the problem, the problem has not been eliminated for more than 3 months. This raises questions in the minds. “What is the problem?” and “Why has it not been able to find a solution for 3 months?”. Apparently, the issue is more serious. The "BakiKart" mobile application was launched in June 2023. The occurrence of a malfunction in the application after 1 year and its long-term inoperability indicate that there is a serious problem.
The statement states that users will be able to use the payment amount on the balance after the service is restored. The statement also states that “We are trying to eliminate the noted malfunctions as soon as possible. During this period, you can use alternative payment methods.” Users are already using alternatives for payment. They make payments via M10 and bank cards.
However, users are deprived of the biggest advantage of “BakiKart” for users. This was to monitor the movement of buses in real time. Users could therefore plan their routes and move.
In the constant statements made by AYNA to the press, it was stated that work on the issue was underway. The latest information on the issue was provided at the “Sustainable Transport for the Future” event held on October 23, 2024. Elmin Mammadov, Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport, who participated in the event, said that a more advanced “Bakikart” program will be launched in Azerbaijan in the near future.
