Xiaomi has announced the launch of a new fully automated factory in Beijing that will operate without human intervention.
As the company's CEO Lei Jun said on the Weibo platform, "The plant in Changping District is equipped with modern intelligent machines that can control product quality, including dust removal at the micron level."
The production complex, worth 2.4 billion yuan (about $330 million), covers an area of 81,000 m² and has an annual production capacity of 10 million flagship smartphones, including the upcoming Xiaomi MIX Fold 4 and Xiaomi MIX Flip foldable phones. The plant has been called "a national model enterprise for intelligent production".
According to Lei Jun, this approach not only improves production efficiency, but is also part of Xiaomi's strategy to transition to a more sustainable and innovative future.
