Yandex invests 400 million dollars in the Turkish market

Yandex Search Turkey CEO Alexander Popovskiy said, "Over the next three years, we plan to invest more than $400 million in developing IT products in Turkey and create hundreds of jobs."

Yandex plans to invest $400 million to localize IT products and expand its presence in Turkey.

According to a statement from the company, the Russia-based multinational tech brand Yandex aims to strengthen its position in the Turkish digital market by continuously developing products and services tailored to the local market, proving itself as a long-term, reliable partner.

In the statement, Yandex Search Turkey CEO Alexander Popovskiy expressed his strong belief in Turkey's digital potential, saying, "Over the next three years, we plan to invest more than $400 million in developing IT products in Turkey and create hundreds of jobs."

Popovskiy emphasized that Yandex is committed to establishing long-term business relationships in Turkey and that a series of products specifically designed for the Turkish market will be launched soon.

"Our goal is to add value to Turkey as a whole and build on the successes we have achieved in the local market in previous years. With this approach, we are focused on developing hyper-localized products that cater to the specific needs of Turkish users. In a short time, we will introduce our AI-powered search product and fully localized services designed specifically for Turkey," Popovskiy added.

Popovskiy highlighted Yandex's approach to competing with global players by focusing on local language, culture, and the specific needs of local users. He contrasted Yandex's approach with that of many global companies that adopt a "one-size-fits-all" approach, stating that Yandex embraces the philosophy of "being local."

"Turkey's economy continues to develop"
Popovskiy expressed his excitement about Turkey's progress in fostering greater competition in the technology sector: "Despite challenges, Turkey's economy continues to grow and develop. With one of the top 10 internet usage rates in the world, Turkey provides fertile ground for innovation, and we aim to contribute to its digital ecosystem."

Alexander Popovskiy also praised the Turkish government's determination to promote "healthy competition" in the tech market and digital economy, which benefits businesses and leads to better, more innovative products for end users.

Popovskiy outlined Yandex’s plans to enhance the user experience in Turkey by adding new features to navigation services, including localized information about Turkish cities.

Regarding Yandex's role in supporting Turkish businesses, Popovskiy said: "We are pleased to see how our B2B solutions are helping local businesses grow. This includes our well-known digital advertising products as well as the recently introduced Yandex Maps API, which, along with these services, serves over 300 Turkish companies."
