249 Euros for "nothing"

Nothing has introduced the new Phone (3a) Lite smartphone. The device costs 249 euros, and its most talked-about feature is the function of displaying ads on the lock screen.

The new model is essentially a simplified version of the CMF Phone 2 Pro smartphone introduced earlier this year. Both devices are equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Pro processor, a 6.77-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display, 8 GB of RAM and a 5000 mAh battery.

In terms of design, the Phone (3a) Lite differs — it has a glass body instead of a plastic back panel. Also, instead of the numerous Glyph light indicators of previous models, this device has only one LED indicator.

In order to keep the price low, the phone comes pre-installed with Instagram, Facebook and TikTok applications. The company has also enabled a feature called “Lock Glimpse” for the first time — this feature displays advertising images and links to online articles on the lock screen. Users can disable this feature completely if they wish.

Nothing has said it will provide Android updates for 3 years and security updates for 6 years.

The Phone (3a) Lite will be available in Europe, the UK, the Middle East, East and Southeast Asia. There are no plans for a US launch.
