Artificial intelligence company Anthropic is expanding its London office to 800 employees, up from 200 in the city.
The new office will be located in London’s Knowledge Quarter, an innovation hub. The move comes just days after OpenAI announced it would open its first permanent office in the capital.
Anthropic, which created an AI model called Claude, said the new location will allow the company to grow faster in London, which it sees as one of its most important research and commercial hubs outside the United States.
The new office will put Anthropic closer to other leading AI companies — OpenAI, Google DeepMind, Meta, Synthesia, and Wayve — and will boost collaboration and innovation opportunities.
