Anthropic has announced the hiring of Andrey Karpaty, a co-founder of OpenAI, to join the company’s pretraining team.
According to Anthropic, he will start work this week and will form a new team that will accelerate initial model training research using the Claude artificial intelligence model. This stage is considered one of the most important processes that form the basic knowledge and skills of AI models.
Karpaty previously led the computer vision division at Tesla. He left Tesla in 2022, briefly returned to OpenAI, and later worked on an AI education startup called Eureka Labs.
The move is seen as a continuation of Anthropic’s strategy of attracting renowned experts in the field of AI to the team in recent months.
