Although OpenAI has not officially launched its services in China, it is looking for employees who speak Mandarin. The company has listed Mandarin as a requirement for new positions in Singapore and San Francisco.
According to OpenAI, the developer experience engineer position in Singapore will develop technical content, tools and sample applications. Mandarin is also required for the growth partner manager position in San Francisco.
Experts in China's technology sector believe that the move is due to the large Chinese-speaking developer community. According to reports, 9.4 million software specialists worked in China last year, which is about a third of the developers worldwide.
