Anthropic plans to invest $50 billion in AI infrastructure in the United States, including building data centers in Texas and New York.
The data centers will be built in partnership with Fluidstack, an AI cloud platform that provides large-scale graphics processing unit (GPU) clusters to clients such as Meta, Midjourney, and Mistral.
The company said the centers will be built specifically for Anthropic and are designed to handle workloads with maximum efficiency, as well as to continue research and development.
The first centers are expected to open in 2026, with more to follow. The project is expected to create more than 2,400 construction workers and 800 permanent jobs.
The investment plan will support the Trump administration’s AI Action Plan, which aims to maintain the US’s leadership in artificial intelligence and strengthen its domestic technology infrastructure.
“We are moving closer to AI that can accelerate scientific discovery and help solve complex problems in ways that were previously impossible,” said Dario Amodei, CEO of Anthropic. “To realize this potential, we need the infrastructure to continue to grow.”
He added, “These centers will help us build more powerful AI systems while creating jobs in the United States.”
