Apple will use Google servers for the updated Siri

US technology giant Apple has approached Google to launch its updated Siri voice assistant. The Information reported this, citing sources.

According to the report, Apple believes that the new Siri, enhanced with artificial intelligence, will be of great interest to users, which will require high computing power. The company's current infrastructure is said to be limited in its ability to fully meet this demand. For this reason, it is noted that Apple may become more dependent on Google Cloud services.

In November 2025, Bloomberg reported, citing sources, that Apple is preparing to reach an agreement worth $ 1 billion per year to use a special version of Google's artificial intelligence model Gemini for the updated Siri. The amount of the contract was not officially disclosed.

On January 12, 2026, Apple confirmed that it would use Gemini in the next-generation version of Siri. Apple CEO Tim Cook said Apple will also continue to use its own Apple Private Cloud Compute virtual environment, maintaining “industry-leading privacy standards.”

On February 27, The Information reported that Meta had leased access to Google’s Tensor Processing Units (TPU) chips through Google Cloud. The parties have not commented on the report.
