One of the activities of the Association of Azerbaijan Cyber Security Organizations (AKTA) is to provide multilateral support for the further improvement of the position of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the international rankings and reports in the field of cyber security.
As a result of AKTA's justified presentation of the systematic measures implemented in the field of ensuring cyber security in the Republic of Azerbaijan in 2023 on relevant indicators, the position of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the rating table of the "National Cybersecurity Index", where 176 countries are evaluated, rose by 36 places to 86- it was guaranteed to advance from the th place to the 50th place.
Since September last year, the methodology based on the new evaluation criteria for the mentioned index has been applied, and 31 countries have been evaluated so far. AKTA's research team also conducted research on new indicators and systematized and presented information on measures implemented in the country in the field of cyber security.
Thus, according to the new index, the Republic of Azerbaijan is ranked 12th with 66.67 points in the rating table in which 31 countries are evaluated on 49 indicators. It should be noted that this indicator is the highest indicator achieved by our country so far. Thus, the highest score achieved by our country in the index during 2016-2023 was 63.64.
At the same time, it should be noted that 32 of the 49 indicators on which the evaluation is based, the answers provided by AKTA were fully accepted and taken into account in the evaluation. In order to fully and objectively evaluate the activities carried out in our country on other indicators, and to further improve the position of our country, we are currently taking additional measures, as well as regularly updating the relevant information and submitting it for consideration in the index.
For information, it should be noted that the "National Cybersecurity Index" developed and improved by the Foundation of the Academy of E-Governance of Estonia is a global index that measures the readiness of countries to ensure cyber security and manage cyber incidents in real time.
