The Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) has restricted the activity license of Azercard LLC at the company’s own request. As a result, the processing center will continue operating not as an electronic money institution but as a payment organization and payment system operator.
According to the CBA, the company was initially granted two main licenses on September 12, 2024. One covered the activity of a payment system operator (License No. ÖSO-001), while the other (License No. EPT-011) included acquiring payment operations as well as the issuance of electronic money and execution of electronic money payment transactions.
However, based on the company’s request, the CBA Board’s decision dated October 8, 2025, revoked the license for electronic money issuance and electronic money payment operations. This restriction officially changed Azercard’s activity profile.
