AzInTelecom has granted "clone" status to more than 58,000 IMEI codes

“AzInTelecom” LLC, one of the AZCON Holding companies, continues to combat the registration of mobile devices imported to Azerbaijan with copied IMEI codes.
As part of the combat measures taken, 58,515 IMEI codes have been blocked and given the “clone” status to date. These IMEI codes have appeared on the network with subscriber IDs belonging to 1,564,073 mobile numbers in the last three months. 1,470,109 attempts to connect to the network with these IMEI codes were rejected by the Mobile Device Registration System (MCQS) of “AzInTelecom”.
“AzInTelecom” LLC regularly monitors and conducts a detailed investigation of IMEI codes suspected of being copied. The copied IMEI codes are given the “clone” status and their use is restricted. It is possible to check the originality of the IMEI codes of mobile devices on the mygov portal.
It should be noted that, according to the "Rules for Registration of Mobile Devices" approved by the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers, the IMEI codes of mobile devices imported to Azerbaijan from abroad must be registered within 30 days in order to be used in the country's telecommunications network.
